Hi friends. I just wanted to say "hello" and give you an update on things here at church. It is a bit quiet around here, to say the least! I have been talking to some of you on the phone, though, and am trying to find ways to keep connected to all of you, including the children. Because it appears that we may not be able to gather together for a few weeks yet, I plan to record a new sermon each week so that we at least can hear God's word. The link to watch it will be posted on our Facebook page, on our website, and through an email. I am also hoping to be able to offer a Facebook version of "Unplugged" starting next week. Most meetings and gatherings have been cancelled for the rest of the month, with two exceptions. The Emmaus Share Group will meet this Friday at the church at 11:00 am. Those attending should bring their own lunch. Also,at this time the Leadership Team will meet on Tuesday, March 31 at 6:00. I will send an update if anything changes. Also, a Finance Team meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 25. Those on the Team will receive a financial statement and information on the meeting through the mail. I encourage you to reach out to the members of our church family who do not receive emails, to let them know you are thinking of them, and to see if they have any needs you can help with. Again, let me know if there is anything I can do to help too. We are still the church whether or not we are together in the same room. I do have a prayer concern. Jerri Osborn is having eye surgery tomorrow at 2:00 to repair a detaching retina. It is outpatient surgery, but she will need to spend some time recovering by lying on her side. Please keep her in your prayers, that everything will go smoothly and that she will have a speedy recovery. Thank you all for your faithfulness and continued diligence in this very strange time. Take care and stay healthy! Pastor Mary God our help and hope when waters rise, You brought Israel safely through the sea. Sustain all those who seek to save others, So that they may repair the ruined cities, Raise up the former devastations, And be the restorers of streets to live in; Through Jesus Christ, our eternal Savior. Amen. (based on Isiah 58, 61) |
